In this assessment, you will be tested on whether you have successfully met the  following Unit Learning Outcomes (ULOs):

ULO1: Discuss the Australian legal system and the legal context in which  businesses operate.

ULO2: Explain how Australian laws are created, changed, and applied. ULO3: Identify the laws that relate to establishing legal entities, and to the  formulation, operation, and termination of contracts.

ULO4: Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of various types of legal  structures and business entities.

ULO5: Analyse legal issues and problems as they apply to businesses and  recommend appropriate courses of action with emphasis on legal

precedent.

Purpose

The purpose of this assessment is

• to reflect the critical analytical skills of the students which they will learn from  Week 1-7 topics in regard to the Australian legal system and Business law  areas.

 

• its emphasis on logical and critical thinking and requires students to  apply these skills to the identification and resolution of legal problems  through legal analysis and as they apply to business.

• This practise will help students to link and improve their future employability  skills.

Instructions

In this assessment, you will need to complete the following steps:

1. Debate 1 will be based on materials covered in week 1 -3.

2. Debate 2 will be based on materials covered in week 4 -5.

3. Debate 3 will be based on materials covered in week 6-7.

4. A list debate topic will be given in Week 2, 4, and 6 through announcement.  5. Each student will be required to prepare all the list of debate topics. During the  debate class, one of the listed topics will be given by the lecturer just 10  minutes before the start of each debate.

6. Presentations might include being in support of the resolution or against the  resolution
