Purpose of the assessment (with ULO Mapping) This assignment assesses the following Unit Learning Outcomes; students should  be able to demonstrate their achievements in them. 

  1. Compare standards-based technologies used in various networks;  c. Test and evaluate various wireless networks performance;

Submission Guidelines
  • Submit Assignment 1a in a word document in week 3  
  • Submit a word document that contains the screenshots of the answers to all  the questions in Assignment 1b-section 2 along with the answers for  questions in Assignment 1b – Section 1 in week 7 
  • All work must be submitted on Moodle by the due date along with a  completed Assignment Cover Page.  
  • The assignment must be in MS Word format, 1.5 spacing, 11-pt Calibri (Body)  font, and 2 cm margins on all four sides of your page with appropriate section  headings.  

Reference sources must be cited in the text of the report, and listed  appropriately at the end in a reference list using IEEE referencing style.

Extension If an extension of time to submit work is required, a Special Consideration  Application must be submitted directly on AMS. You must submit this  application three working days prior to the due date of the assignment.

Assignment Description 

You are a new system engineer at the Melbourne Institute of Systems, Australia. Your company wishes to extend its operations to another floor as the business booming. Most of the office workers are using both laptops and personal computers (PCs) for their work. They often need to share large data across different floors. The company also has another office in the adjacent building with a line-of-sight view. Overall, office workers are moving continuously, and they need full connectivity and accessibility to the network at any given point in time at any place. 

Assignment 1a:  

Describe the following advantages and disadvantages of wireless network technologies with a simple case example [word limit is 400 words].

Then you will report to your director on:
